When entering a name, it is better to key in as much of the name as possible and to separate the last name and the first name with a comma and a space. For example, if you wanted to search for John P. Doe, you would enter: Doe, John P. If you only know the debtor’s last name, key in the last name and a comma. Doe, Once you have entered the name, select “Begin Search.” A table with your search results will appear showing the office, debtor’s name, type, case number, filing date, chapter, and social security number. If the name is dimmed (not bold), it notes that the case is closed, and if the chapter is in green, it denotes an asset case. To drill down for additional case information, click on the case number. NOTE: Cases beginning with a 1, 2, 3 or 4 are conventional 'paper' files and the docket and case information can be accessed through this database. Cases beginning with the following lead digits
