I-64 East towards Newport News/Norfolk to I-664 South exit towards Downtown Newport News/Suffolk/Chesapeake. 26th Street/27th Street exit (#6). Keep right at the fork in the ramp. Merge onto 26th Street and keep straight. Turn left onto West Avenue and go two blocks. The courthouse is on the left at West Avenue and 23rd Street.
From points East
I-64 West towards Hampton/Williamsburg to the I-664 North exit towards Newport News/Hampton. 26th Street/27th Street exit (#6). Keep right at the fork in the ramp, merge onto 26th Street and keep straight. Turn left onto West Avenue and go two blocks. The courthouse is on the left at West Avenue and 23rd Street.
Visitors enter the courthouse through the building's main entrance on West Avenue. You will be required to walk though a magnetometer and your bags will be screened by an x-ray machine. You will be required to show a photo ID issued by a government agency, such as a driver's license.
Cell phones, pagers, PDAs, laptop computers, cameras, tape recorders, and all other personal electronic devices are prohibited in the courthouse. There are no facilities available to store these items.
A city parking lot is located on 26th Street on the right, before you get to West Avenue. It has an entrance on 26th Street. If this entrance is closed, please try the main entrance by continuing on 26th Street, taking a right onto West Avenue, and taking a right onto 28th Street to the lot's main entrance. There is a cost for parking in this lot.
Some on-street parking is available around the courthouse and the old courthouse/post office building, for which there is no charge.
