Today, Charri S. Stewart was appointed the Clerk of Court, United States Bankruptcy for the Eastern District of Virginia, first in a Designee capacity. In this capacity, she will be working closely with the Clerk of Court, Bill Redden, and others, during a one-month overlap period prior to the Clerk of Court’s retirement at day’s end December 31, 2024. Ms. Stewart will become the Clerk of Court effective January 1, 2025.  Her selection as the successor Clerk of Court was published in an August 7, 2024 announcement. As part of this announcement, it was noted that: “In her capacity as a public servant, Ms. Stewart will be relying on the extensive knowledge of our senior management and the Clerk’s Office team, and we ask for your support as she transitions into this new role.” She is looking forward to her new role with our Court and the opportunity to meet with others in this capacity.
