Announcement: Impending Implementation of Bankruptcy Next Generation Case CM/ECF System—Commencement of Data Migration Period on 03/17/2022, at 6 PM EDT, Related Information, and REMINDER

Monday, March 14, 2022

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (the Court) will be upgrading the Court’s current Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system to the Bankruptcy Next Generation (NextGen) CM/ECF system platform beginning on March 17, 2022, at 6 p.m. EDT. Because this upgrade is extremely complex, the CM/ECF system will be unavailable for the duration of the work, which is expected to last until March 22, 2022.  For avoidance of doubt, users will not be able to use the CM/ECF system electronically to file or view any documents or to view any dockets during this periodFor specific information and instructions, please reference Standing Order 22-4. That Order, in part, includes a request from the Court that, “filers avoid non-emergency filings during the period beginning on March 17, 2022, and ending on March 22, 2022, which filings could be filed without adverse effect once such period concludes.”

BOPS, VCIS, and the CM/ECF Public Calendar also will be unavailable during this period. Orders submitted to BOPS will be queued until access is restored.

Upon full restoration of the CM/ECF system, an additional broadcast message will be sent as well as a notification on the Court’s homepage (www.vaeb.uscourts.gov) and on the Court’s Bankruptcy NextGen CM/ECF Web Page.

REMINDER: The Court’s Bankruptcy NextGen CM/ECF Web Page includes very important new mandatory upgraded PACER account-CM/ECF combined account login procedures and information for attorneys, trustees, and filing agents. In addition to Standing Order 22-4, see Standing Order 22-6.
