No other matters or requests will be considered by Chambers staff and under no circumstances will any such matters or requests be brought to the Judge’s attention. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in appropriate action, including but not limited to the imposition of sanctions.
The request form attached to the Personal Electronics Device Policy, and linked here as a PDF-fillable request form, should be completed, as indicated on the request form. Once completed, the request form should be attached to an e-mail as a PDF file, and transmitted, via e-mail, by the requesting attorney, to the appropriate bankruptcy judge’s chambers, as follows:

MOTION TO EXTEND AUTOMATIC STAY HEARING DATES

NOTICE: Judge Santoro will no longer consider the entry of an interim order extending the automatic stay when a motion to extend the automatic stay cannot be heard by the Court on sufficient notice prior to the expiration of the 30-day period set forth in Section 362(c)(3)(A). The Court will consider a properly filed motion to expedite hearing under such circumstances.
PLEASE NOTE: Motions to extend the automatic stay in Newport News cases may also be set for a Norfolk hearing date in the attorney’s discretion. When setting in Norfolk, select from the dates and times provided on Judge Santoro’s Norfolk page under the “MOTION TO EXTEND AUTOMATIC STAY HEARING DATES” section.
